Tomáš Kellenberger was born on April 10, 1980 in Bratislava. He has been close to art since childhood, but started to create systematically in his life while attending various workshops. His work is rich in themes. As he says, “I am interested in everything. I draw fairy-tale heroes, realistic landscapes and gardens, knights, mythology, religious themes, symbolic and allegoric images, still life, poetic landscapes, human faces and figures, castles, apocalyptic scenes, female nudes and historic events interpreted in my own way.” The energy of his work comes from strong authentic composition and vivid colors. He tend to use geometry, bold rhythm and stylization. Dark outlines are filled with bright fauvistic colors. Flat composition and colors provide a decorative quality and enable expressivity to become more prominent in his work. Rhythm, dynamics, pure colors and gradual transition from themes to symbols are typical in Tomáš’s work.
