Dušan Mihálik was born on January 7, 1963 in Bratislava. He is in every way an unusual personality in LMH collection and one of its most productive artists. He expresses himself directly without a filter and with ambiguous language. He shares his stories through his vision; a unique world of rich, rampant expressive imagination. His figurative motifs are quite peculiar – animals and extra-terrestrials with a network of signs and simplified symbols. He sometimes paints from models, but not because he needs to capture them directly, but to satisfy his momentary need for artistic expression. He picks ‘templates’ from various picture encyclopedias (picture encyclopedia of animals, for instance) and re-draws these images frantically, page by page. He is able to create tens of those copies in a short time and adapts them later for his own philosophic and UFO oriented visions.
